Anxiety can be seen as a regular part of everyday life. When it becomes overpowering, limiting or is controlling our day to day lives it may help to seek some extra support. One proven approach which supports a person overcome ‘unhelpful’ anxiety is Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT). Identifying some of the thinking errors that lead us to believe the perceived danger is much greater than it is in reality, can allow us to have a more realistic view of the ‘fear’. Using CBT strategies, and correcting these thinking errors, we can work towards moving on with our lives without the unhelpful anxiety holding us back.
